The Paranormal Investigation Safety Checklist Every Team Needs
Pre-investigation, equipment, on-site and wrap-up checklists that keep your team safe and your evidence clean.

Before the investigation
- Written permission from the property owner.
- Daylight walkthrough to identify hazards.
- Someone outside the team knows where you are and when you'll be back.
- Emergency contacts and nearest hospital noted.
Equipment check
- Batteries charged, spares packed.
- Memory cards formatted and labeled.
- First-aid kit and flashlights for every person.
- Devices tested and synced to the same time.
During the investigation
- Never investigate alone — work in pairs at minimum.
- No alcohol or drugs, before or during.
- Respect the property: touch nothing you don't have permission to move.
- Stop if anyone feels unwell or unsafe.
After the investigation
- Account for every team member and every device.
- Leave the location as you found it.
- Back up all data the same night.
- Debrief while memories are fresh.
